Private Water Well Inspections
Elite Inspection Services is certified through both InterNACHI & ICA (Inspection Certification Associates), as a private water well inspector. A private well is a critical system in the purchase of a new home. You cannot rely on municipal water; therefore, you are in complete reliance on a single source of water for your family. You cannot afford to take this for granted and an inspection is your only safeguard to ensure that your water supply is in good working order when you move in. If your prospective property has a private well, we highly recommend both a well inspection and water testing.
What we inspect:
- Locating the well and inspecting the well system components for defects. (Ensuring the well is properly located with respect to regional standards.)
- The well casing compliance with local standards. (Sealing, venting etc.)
- The well performance including yield/flow rate and pressure throughout the entire pump draw down cycle.
- Inspection of periphery well hardware including the well pressure tank, pressure switch and control panel function.
Water Testing
If your prospective property has a private well, we highly recommend that you have the well tested for contamination. The Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 does not protect private wells. The EPA’s rules apply only to public drinking water systems, defined as government or privately run companies supplying water to 25 people or to 15 service connections. So consider this, your local municipality will test for Coliform Bacteria “everyday.” When was the last time your prospective private well was tested for coliform bacterial?
We provide (3) levels of testing:
- Basic Well/Water test A – (Coliform bacteria test)
- Well/Water test B – (Private well metals testing)
(Complete Metals for Private Wells. AS,SE,BA,CD,CR,HG,PB,FE,MN,Copper,ZN)
- Well/Water test C – (Private well metals plus Nitrate/Nitrite testing)
(Complete Metals for Private Wells. AS,SE,BA,CD,CR,HG,PB,FE,MN,Copper,ZN)
(Automated Partial Chemistry (Fluoride, Chloride, Hardness, Nitrate, Nitrite, Sulfate, Sodium,)
Septic System Inspections
Elite Inspection Services is certified through ICA (Inspection Certification Associates), as a private septic system inspector.
What we inspect:
- Locating the septic tank and drain field and defining the type and volume of the tank. (Ensuring system is properly located with respect to regional standards.)
- Inspecting the inlet and outlet baffles for function and damage.
- Performing a light stress test to verify function of the drain field. This includes a drain field aggregate survey for excessive build-up organic matter.
- Inspecting the system volume level and providing a recommendation on the need for pumping. (We can also arrange and schedule pumping in the event that the tank is in need of pumping/servicing or we can simply schedule this to take place post inspection.) Note: We recommend that the tank NOT be pumped prior to inspection which would prevent a successful stress test of the drain field.
